Profile photo: A single photo used for your profile and identity verification.
Emergency contacts: Names and phone numbers of contacts you designate for safety features.

Information collected automatically:

Location data: Precise GPS location when you toggle "Available" on. This is the core feature of the app — we use your location to find other users near you. Location is only collected while the app is active and you have opted in.
Bluetooth data: We use Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to detect nearby users for more accurate proximity matching. No personal data is transmitted via Bluetooth — only anonymous device identifiers.
Usage data: App interactions, feature usage, and session information to improve the app experience.
Device information: Device model, operating system version, and app version.

2. How We Use Your Information

Proximity matching: To connect you with other Available users within 100 feet of you.
Profile display: To show your first name and photo to potential matches.
Venue suggestions: To find nearby date venues based on your location.
Safety features: To enable SOS alerts, safety check-ins, and emergency contact notifications.
Notifications: To send match alerts and safety reminders.
Analytics: To understand how the app is used and improve the experience.
Account management: To create and manage your account, authenticate your identity, and provide customer support.

3. Location Data

Location is central to how Available works. We want to be transparent about how we handle it:

We only collect your precise location when you toggle "Available" on.
Your location is broadcast to our servers to find nearby users. These broadcasts are automatically deleted after 5 minutes of inactivity.
We do not sell your location data to third parties.
We do not build a historical record of your movements.
You can create "blackout zones" (e.g., your workplace) where you will never be shown as available.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

Other users: Your first name, photo, and verification status are visible to users you match with.
Service providers: We use Supabase for database and authentication, Twilio for SMS verification, and Apple for Sign in with Apple. These providers process data on our behalf under strict agreements.
Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the safety of our users.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

Encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL)
Row-level security on all database tables
Secure authentication via phone OTP, email, or Apple Sign In
Automatic cleanup of stale location data

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Delete your account and all associated data at any time from the app settings.
Withdraw consent for location sharing by toggling "Available" off or revoking location permissions in your device settings.
Block and report other users who violate our community standards.

7. Data Retention

Location broadcasts: Deleted automatically after 5 minutes of inactivity.
Match history: Retained while your account is active.
Account data: Deleted when you delete your account.
Analytics: Anonymized and aggregated data may be retained for product improvement.

8. Children's Privacy

Available is intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected data from a minor, we will delete it immediately.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes through the app or via email. Your continued use of Available after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
